International Cash Race Update

Prize pool at approximately £42K with 3 weeks left

The International Cash Race has really taken off, the cash games are buzzing at the club and at the moment stands at approximately £42K

The first place prize has now been guaranteed at £10,000 with the top 18 players all getting paid. And what's more, They will be awarding £100 to every player who qualifies for the final tournament.

They estimated a prize pool of £30,000 at the end of the 3-month promotion, so they have clearly surpassed that already!

The Promotion:

The way it works is quite simple. For every hour you play you will be attributed a number of points depending on the level of game played (for those of you not familiar with the loyalty scheme at the International, you get loyalty points for time you spend at the cash tables, using your membership card).

Players need to accumulate 9000 ipoints over the period to qualify for Cash Race Grand Final, where every qualified player will convert their attributed points earned at the cash tables into tournament chips and play for the accumulated prize pool.

The amount of points you accumulate depends on the stakes you play - All games up to and including £1-£1 will receive 50 points per hour played; £1-£2 & £1-£3 games will receive 100 points per hour played; and all £2-£5 games and above will receive 150 points per hour. So to give you an idea how long it takes, at the £1-£1 tables you will need to play approximately 180 hours over the period (15 hours/week) and at £1-£2 approximately 90 hours (7.5 hours/week); and at £2-£5 and above 60 hours over the period (5 hours/week).

The prize pool is made up of £1 taken out of each pot that is £20 or over. At the current level of £55,000 and growing, this is well worth qualifying and playing in!

The Cash Race Grand Final will be held on Wednesday 7th April 2010. The Final will be a straight No Limit Holdem tournament playing for the accumulated prize pool and everybody who qualifies will be eligible to play.

One administrational point but vitally important is that it is the players' responsibility to both sign in/out using your membership card with the cash desk staff. No points can be retrospectively given or time attributed after the cash session has passed.

To make it a little easier for those of you who cannot make it to the club at least a few times a week, they are running special nights where there will be double points for certain times or on certain tables/games, so make sure you keep an eye on the Gutshot Poker forum or make sure the front desk has your latest information like email and mobile number so they can stay in contact.
