Cash Games

Background
Equal Chance is a private member's club that has been around since 2005. When you get there you will feel right at home, as it has a very friendly, family environment. The atmosphere is relaxed, with many regulars coming, and lots of banter between players and dealers as well. The owners are very involved in the day-to-day running of the club and one of them even takes care of all the home-cooked meals served at the club!
It is not the easiest place to get to, but if you drive there's a car park opposite the club. Otherwise, it's right around the corner from St. James St Station.
You will find mostly regular players at Equal Chance. There are differing levels of players, but you will find the odd pro playing here like Willie Tann and Richard Wheatley. James Akenhead, on his way to the November Nine in the WSOP, has spent many nights playing poker at Equal Chance, and still plays there regularly.
Apart from their weekly tournament schedule, Equal Chance use to hold a Main Event every month, a £20,000 Guaranteed treble chance comp, but looks like that hasn't happened in a while.
Membership
Membership is free, although there is a 48 hour waiting period, before you can play. You can apply online in advance, just get in touch with them by email.
Food & Drink
You will find a nice variety of home-cooked food at Equal Chance. So it won't always be the same thing on the menu, hotdogs one day, Greek food another. Every Sunday, they make a Sunday roast for their members which is a nice touch.
Other activities
Other games are also popular at the club like Kalooki, Chess, Backgammon, and snooker. You can also play online poker as well.
